AI focus when battery and electric car startup establishes at Lindholmen

Gothenburg’s Anodox Group and Sri Lankan multinational Orel Group have unveiled a new strategic partnership and their joint AI business will take place at The Yard, Lindholmen. Green energy, sustainable mobility and artificial intelligence will be in focus.

The Yard, a initiative by Älvstranden Utveckling AB among others, opened up its doors in January this year to offer a unique setting in Lindholmen, Gothenburg, for startups and scaleups in the tech industry. Here the members can combine a huge workshop hall with office space for working on or executing various tests. One of the newest member companies is Anodox Group.

Headquartered in Partille, Gothenburg, Anodox has its roots in the city’s advanced automotive cluster. It manufactures and supplies battery solutions and offers engineering services. Via Akinsi, a partnership with electric vehicle manufacturer Jinpeng Group, it also makes electric vehicles, designed for people in cities and for last mile delivery. 

AI business establishes at The Yard

Anodox and Orel IT, the Orel Group’s IT arm, are also joining forces on an AI platform and business for applications in mobility, energy and health. Among other things, it will further strengthen the design and development of their own energy systems and electric vehicles.

The AI business, which is called Otilo, will be located at The Yard, at Lindholmen Science Park in Gothenburg. The old shipyard building has been transformed into an arena and workshop for tech companies. CEVT, Lynk & Co, Semcon and Heart Aerospace are a few of the neighbours.
